Design and ergonomics

Honor 7C Pro is housed in the company's typical metal body with a signature design. The device is sold in three colors - black, blue and gold. We received the most strict and neutral version for review.

A significant part of the front panel is occupied by an elongated FullView screen. Unfortunately, its corners are not rounded, which gives the gadget some “clumsiness”. Another thing to note is the thick side frames from the year 2016...

The front is coated with the usual oleophobic coating for the segment. In the first two weeks of use there were no strong smudges or streaks, but the screen still gets dirty.

Above the display there is a neat speaker cutout and a front camera. There are also the necessary sensors, but in the black version they are invisible.

The navigation buttons on the device are touch sensitive, and in the area below the screen there is the Honor logo.

The back of the smartphone is metal, but there are plastic inserts at the top and bottom that hardly stand out visually. In the upper left corner on one platform there are two camera modules and an LED flash. You can see a dot nearby - this is noise reduction.

There is a fingerprint scanner in the center of the back. If you hold the phone with one hand, you will have to reach for it a little.

Traditionally, the manufacturer's logo and discreet trade markings are located at the bottom of the rear panel.

The volume and power buttons are on the right side. There are no questions about them - they press clearly and do not irritate with extraneous sounds.

On the left is a slot for a memory card and SIM cards. Removable with a paperclip, non-hybrid.

The top edge of the device is empty; on the bottom there is a charging connector (microUSB), a 3.5 mm audio output, speaker and microphone holes, as well as noticeable bolts.

It is comfortable to hold the smartphone in your hand - the side edges are rounded, and the metal is pleasant to the touch and does not slip.

But there is also a drawback - the backdrop quickly accumulates stains and gets dirty. Many other metal smartphones are more practical in this regard.

The Honor 7C Pro is comparable in size to 5.5-inch smartphones from 2017, such as the Meizu M6 Note and Xiaomi Mi A1, but it uses a 5.99-inch display. This effect was achieved through the use of a widescreen screen. There is nothing to add in terms of build quality and case materials - in this sense, Huawei and Honor hold their own.

Size, thickness and weight

Screen size is what determines the ease of using a smartphone not only for calls, but also for comfortable viewing of photos and videos. Returning to the compared models, we note that they have the same screen diagonal – 5.45 inches. In addition, they have the same weight and thickness.

Sound

If you compare Huawei Honor 8 and iPhone 7 in terms of sound, the advantage will definitely be on the side of the Apple product. Unfortunately, you can read a lot of complaints about the multimedia capabilities of Honor 8 on the Internet. It clearly lacks both bass and low frequencies. There is only one speaker, but the sound is muffled and unclear. Manufacturers offer their own player to play tunes. True, there are no manual settings in it.

As for Apple's proposal, the manufacturer himself notes that he paid special attention to the issue of smartphone sound. That is why stereo speakers were installed in the gadget, which ensure the sound of the smartphone is twice as loud as in previous similar products of the brand. Testing confirms such statements. The volume of the device is fixed at 99.2 dB.

The microphone and speaker in both devices work quite well. There are no complaints about the microphone's performance. It records perfectly, without extraneous noise and with maximum accuracy.
