The SIM slots in each phone are different. In some places there are auxiliary elements for removing the SIM card, but in others it is quite difficult to do this. However, owners of complex smartphones have already learned how to operate them using improvised means.
In the iPhone you will not find the usual SIM card slot, as in Androids. The manufacturer even includes a special paperclip with the kit, a key for opening the slot, which is most often located on the side (iphone 5). However, it may happen that the key is not included in the set. The first generations of Apple phones were produced without such an auxiliary tool at all, for example the iPhone S. How to open a SIM card slot?
If you use improvised means incorrectly, you can cause serious damage, then the problem will be more serious than just “how to get a SIM card out of an iPhone.” Therefore, before you figure out how to open the slot with a paperclip and how to remove the SIM, try to find a special device that should come with your smartphone. Take out the factory box, perhaps it went unnoticed there when you unpacked the phone.
When you have found the key, follow the following strategy:
- Turn off your device. To do this, you need to press the power button, which is located at the top of the iPhone, and hold it for a while. You will see the message “Turn off” on the display. You need to scroll your finger across the inscription from left to right, and the device will turn off.
- Be sure to turn off the device before removing the SIM. If you do this while it is turned on, over time the phone will begin to glitch and freeze, since you are creating a system malfunction with such an action.
- After completing the work, find the SIM card slot on the side or top (depending on the iPhone generation).
- There is a small hole on the slot. You need to insert a special key into this hole, and the SIM card slot can be easily removed. Ready!
Installing a second SIM or microSD
Today, most users are not limited to one SIM card. The second SIM card is added in the same way as the first. If the smartphone has a hybrid or combined slot, instead of a second SIM card, the user can install a memory card of a certain size - the number of supported GB depends on the Xiaomi smartphone model.
How to install microSD:
- The flash drive has its own characteristic shapes that will not allow you to place it incorrectly - it fits exactly into the slots provided for it. Place the microSD so that its contacts are on top.

- Push the tray in until it clicks and turn on the machine's power. After switching on, 2 antennas with the names of operators will appear on the screen. In the smartphone settings, you can check whether the flash drive is in place by going to the “Memory” section.
There are Xiaomi models that have a separate slot for microSD. Its removal and installation is carried out similarly to the SIM card tray.
What to do if the SIM card is stuck
It often happens that the SIM card is stuck in the iPhone 6 and the slot does not open all the way. If this happens, do not despair and immediately take the device to a service center. You can solve this problem yourself at home.
So, how can a SIM get stuck? You insert the key, open the slot, try to pull out the slot along with the SIM, but you can’t do it because, for example, it is bent and creates an obstacle. How to remove the SIM card?

Obviously, the developers believe that 128 or 256 GB should be enough for all urgent needs.
If the model provides support for a flash drive, it is installed in a special or hybrid slot. In the second case, the tray has two recesses of different shapes. The user must choose whether to install an SD card and a SIM card or just two SIM cards.
A few items you can use if you don't have a paper clip
You don't have a paper clip at home and you lost your iPhone key? No problem, don’t panic and run to the store for paper clips. You can use other items as an alternative. Here are the most common of them:
- Stapler staple. It can also be found in notebooks or notepads, as manufacturers staple the sheets together with them.
- Needle. An iPhone needle can be dangerous if you are not careful. The main thing is not to use needles that are too thin; there is a risk that they will bend inside the phone and break, leaving one end in the hole. It is most convenient to use a safety pin (a needle with a tip).
- Toothpick. Even though the device is made of wood, it can help you just as well as a paper clip. The main thing is not to break the tip or leave it inside the hole.
Memory card under the case
If you can't find the slide, it's likely that the SIM and memory card slots are located under the body of your device, usually under the back cover. This method is more typical for cheap models costing up to 10 thousand rubles.
Again, it is worth inspecting all ends of the device. As a rule, you will be able to find some kind of “recess” in the body that you can catch with your fingernail. Although, we recommend using a plastic card, for example, a discount card from a store, so as not to break your nails, since the latches of the smartphone cover are often very tight. In addition, the plastic will not allow you to impact the case too much if you suddenly try to open the smartphone in a place other than where the manufacturer intended.

Types of SIM cards
Let's start with the fact that a SIM card is a special identification number for a telecom operator's subscriber. A lot of time has passed since the first elements appeared, and therefore it will not be possible to install an old “card” into the tray of a modern smartphone (more details on Wikipedia). All this is due to the fact that manufacturers strive to make devices as thin as possible and fit more and more new elements into them every year. For clarity and general information, let's look at the main types of SIM:
- Full size . Used in push-button phones and the first smartphones. Now they are not used at all and are not offered by telecom operators.
- Micro-SIM . The second largest card, which is still installed in many mobile devices. It supports 3G and LTE, which is an advantage. But you won’t be able to insert it into a Realme phone either.
- Nano-SIM . The most modern format. Such cards support all new devices. In appearance, it is somewhat similar to the previous generation, but without the plastic edges.
You can only insert a Nano-SIM SIM card into your Realmi phone. To receive it, you need to personally visit the office of the mobile operator or order delivery by courier. As a rule, no fees are charged for reissue.

Features for different versions
Before carrying out work, remember that Samsung Galaxy have been produced for several years, and during this time their design has changed several times. Users have three options at their disposal:
- Phones until 2021 have two connectors. A SIM card is installed in one, and a memory card or a second SIM is installed in the second. The receiver is located on the right side of the smartphone.
- In Samsung Galaxy smartphones starting from 2021, the connector has been moved under the Power button.
- If the phone was released after 2016, the main connector is located at the top left. You can insert a memory card and SIM into it or install two SIM cards (optional).
Before inserting a SIM card into a Samsung Galaxy A3, A5 or A7, you need to reduce it to Nano size. There are several options here:

- Cut the card to Nano size yourself using a knife, sandpaper, template, glue and other tools.
It is best to contact a salon for a SIM card, because in the first and third cases there is a high risk of damage to the SIM and the need to replace it.
Needle/pin
Such an object is also easy to insert into the narrow opening of the case. It is better to use sewing pins with a tip. Keep in mind that thick needles may not fit, and thin pins have a chance of bending under pressure.
Where you can find it: at any display near an underground passage or in the subway you can buy a dozen pins for a few rubles. You can borrow a “tool” from a sewing workshop or from a tailor; our mothers and grandmothers keep whole mountains of pins or needles. Some more superstitious people tease them about their clothes.
What to do if your SIM card does not fit your Huawei smartphone
If you can't insert a SIM card into your Huawei because it's too big, then see if there are any perforations on it that will allow you to shrink it down to the size you need. For the last few years, SIM cards have been produced with three perforation belts on the plastic, allowing you to get a mini, micro or nano chip. This is what it looks like:
If there is no perforation, it is better not to cut off the excess plastic to try to insert a SIM card into a Huawei phone - it is very easy to damage both the chip itself and the tray with slots. You just need to go to any communication store and write an application for re-issuance of a SIM card - it’s free, it’s done quite quickly, and the old number is retained.
