The Chinese company Huawei started 2021 very strongly, almost completely updating all of its main Huawei and Honor lines during the first two quarters. The first step was to update the top segment with the advent of the new flagship P10, but we didn’t have to wait long for announcements on the mid-budget market, since the new Honor 6c was released in April.
I saw it, but I wasn't surprised. The new product was intended to replace last year's Honor 5c, but for unknown reasons it was inferior to it in almost everything, except for the price, which was unreasonably high. In conditions of rather fierce competition, the new product was clearly losing, the company understood this perfectly well and did not find anything better than to update the line again after six months and release Honor 6c pro.
But today we will not talk about it or even about comparing the two versions. Ironically, the pro version is now quite difficult to find on store shelves, while the 6c is found quite often at a very reasonable price of ten thousand rubles. In today's article we will try to take a closer look at the Honor 6c from the point of view of new realities and understand the relevance of this proposal today. We present to you our short review of Honor 6c, consider the characteristics and equipment and draw conclusions.
Specifications
The phone comes in a beautiful turquoise package, but the equipment included in the device is very standard. In addition to the device itself, we also found in the box: a charger, a USB cable, a user manual and a paperclip for removing the SIM card tray.
The technical characteristics of the smartphone are as follows:
- Single-chip system: processor - Qualcomm Snapdragon 435, 8 Cortex-A53 cores, clock frequency - 4 × 1.4 GHz, 4 × 1.1 GHz, graphics accelerator - Adreno 505;
- Operating system: Android 6.0 plus proprietary shell EMUI 4.1;
- Display: 5-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1280×720 and a pixel density of 294 ppi;
- Memory: RAM - 3 GB, internal memory - 32 GB, microSD support up to 128 GB;
- Communication: networks: GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), WCDMA/HSPA+ (850/900/1900/2100 MHz), LTE Cat.4 FDD (B1/3/7/8/20) , TD (B38); Nano-SIM support (2 pcs.), Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n (2.4 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, A-GPS, Glonass, BDS;
- Cameras: 13 MP main camera with autofocus, f/2.2 aperture, video recording - 1080p; 5 MP front camera, f/2.2 aperture, fixed focus;
- Battery: 3020 mAh, non-removable;
- Dimensions: 144×70×7.6 mm, weight 138 g.
As we can see from the technical characteristics, Honor 6c is only a stretch approaching the mid-budget level, and the price of 14,000 rubles at the start of sales was clearly very high for it. If NFC was among its communications, the smartphone would look much more attractive. And so this device is distinguished from its predecessor only by large amounts of memory - 32 GB main and 3 GB RAM, otherwise the new 6c is inferior to its older version.
Battery
The batteries are the same, 3020 mAh. At present, the volume is average. However, they say that Qualcomm is doing well with energy saving.
My battery tests showed 166% of the conventional standard for Honor 6A and 156% for Honor 6C. Not bad. It is possible to drain the battery in the evening if you really want to, but it is difficult.

Design
Honor 6c comes in three colors - gold, silver and grey. We came across a gray smartphone for review, and after twirling it in our hands a little, we’ll say that the first impression was “very good”, but over time the effect of novelty wears off and the feeling comes that in fact Honor doesn’t stand out in any special way. against its competitors from the middle segment.
The smartphone is made in a combination of plastic and metal, or rather, the phone body itself is mostly plastic, but the back cover, apparently, is made of honest hardware. Holding the phone in your hands is comfortable, the metal gives a feeling of pleasant coolness, and at the same time the device practically does not slip and does not stick together when pressed hard. But although the tactile sensations were pleasing, the completely unremarkable design haunts me: the 6c turned out to be completely faceless, a gray mass among many similar smartphones. The metal cover is fitted to the plastic elements end-to-end and without any special frills, and for some reason the camera is painted in the color of the body and practically does not stand out. Moreover, taken as a whole, there are absolutely no elements that would please the eye. From the point of view of design and design, Honor 5c looked much more interesting.
The phone has very wide frames for its class. On the sides this is not very noticeable, but as for the bottom frame, this is simply the apogee of inappropriate use of space. In more budget Honor models, this can still be forgiven, but in the middle class, if you don’t have mechanical navigation buttons, spending so much free space on a simple “Honor” inscription is the height of waste.
The rest of the functional keys and connectors are in their places. On the front panel, in addition to the already announced inscription, you can traditionally find a speaker, a proximity sensor and a front camera; on the back cover there is a main camera, an LED flash and a round fingerprint scanner, which, by the way, works quite well. On the sides we have: on the right there is a lock key, a volume control, on the left there is a tray for a SIM card. And finally, at the bottom there is the main speaker, a microUSB port, and at the top there is an auxiliary microphone and a headphone jack. As they say, nothing unusual, everything is standard.
In general, one could talk for a long time about why the smartphone ended up being so unremarkable compared to its predecessor and competitors. But we don’t see much sense in this, perhaps the developers this time were not given money for the original design, perhaps the deadlines were running out and they had to send “what we have” into production, it doesn’t matter. As they say, it depends on the taste and color... Our opinion, of course, does not pretend to be a standard of taste, and perhaps someone will like this design. So we work with what we have and move on.

Both smartphones are available in three colors - gold (white front), silver (also white front), gray (black front).
Matte metal body. Nice build. On-screen buttons. There is an LED. I have no questions about appearance, nothing to complain about.
Some boring details
Above the screen everything is traditional - speaker, sensors, front camera. There's also an LED here.
Under the screen there is the inscription “Honor” and nothing more.
Behind. Everything interesting is above. Camera, flash nearby. Below the camera is a fingerprint sensor.
On the top edge there is a 3.5 mm audio output and a microphone for noise reduction.
At the bottom there is a Micro-USB connector. On the sides there are two gratings. Under one there is a speaker, under the other there is a microphone.
On the right side is the power button and volume rocker.
On the left is the card tray. Either two Nano-SIMs, or one SIM card and a memory card.
Display
The Honor 6c screen module is equipped with a high-quality IPS matrix and has a resolution of 1280×720 with a pixel density of 294 ppi with a diagonal of five inches. These are very, very good indicators, but (attention!) - for the budget segment. Compared to its competitors, Huawei Honor 6c loses a lot, since most of them have long switched to FullHD displays with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. However, low resolution is one of the few disadvantages of this model. The only thing we can highlight is the vague black color that most IPS matrices suffer from, but otherwise we really liked this display, so let’s move on to the advantages of the 6c screen.
I would immediately like to note the excellent screen brightness, which is approximately 450 cd/m2, and the good anti-glare coating. Even in very bright sunlight, the display remains quite readable, and the colors do not lose saturation. As for the colors themselves, they are moderately bright, close to natural shades. The screen does not flicker, color reproduction is correct. The color temperature is shifted towards cool shades, but if desired, the user can fine-tune it to suit themselves using a special built-in utility.
The white color is as close as possible to real white, it does not turn yellow or violet. The contrast of the smartphone is at a good level. Viewing angles are also very good, colors do not fade or invert even when the phone is turned very sharply, only white tones slightly lose their quality.
The screen is covered with tempered protective glass Gorilla Glass 3rd generation, made in 2.5D format. The phone is quite resistant to minor scratches, so if you use the device carefully, you can easily do without film or additional protective glass. The smartphone is also equipped with a very high-quality oleophobic coating. The finger glides across the screen easily, fingerprints are almost invisible and can be easily removed with a napkin. There is no air gap between the matrix and the glass, which has a positive effect on both the sensitivity of the phone and color rendition.
To sum up, we can say that the screen of the Honor 6c is made at a very good level and, so to speak, is not at all budget-friendly. However, the low resolution by modern standards completely ruins everything. If the screen had a higher resolution, there would be no complaints about it at all. And so the phone loses precisely in the point that the mass consumer first of all pays attention to when evaluating the device’s display. It turned out badly, gentlemen engineers/marketers.

Good screens. Subjectively, the 6C seems to be a little nicer. But this is so... Only if you look at them side by side and meticulously compare. The 6A's screen is also in perfect order. Plus even a little brighter.
I already cursed at the film and the lack of oleophobic coating on the 6A at the very beginning of the review.
Sound
Honor 6c sounds very boring and ordinary. Huawei smartphones, in principle, have never been distinguished by their special sound quality in the budget and mid-budget segment, but in this case, things somehow didn’t work out at all.
When playing, the sound, although quite clear, is completely flat, all tones are shifted towards high frequencies, while neither the mids nor the bass are noticeable at all. There is no question of transmitting the entire audio range even when listening through headphones, and the sound is quite loud only when the control slider is moved almost completely to the right.
It’s a pity that you can’t check the sound of the Huawei Honor 6c in AnTuTu; for some reason it seems that it would show very low results. The only advantages of the smartphone are the presence of FM radio and karaoke mode.
Honor 6C review
Huawei started 2021 very actively, presenting two flagships Huawei P10 and P10 Plus . Then the manufacturer announced an equally powerful Honor V9 smartphone for the Chinese market, and in early April the same device went on sale in Europe and Russia under the name Honor 8 Pro . Now it has become known that Huawei recently presented a mid-budget device for the European market under the name Honor 6C. The smartphone has weak hardware and compact dimensions due to the use of a 5-inch display. It is worth noting that the Honor 6C device replaced last year's Honor 5C , while the new product is inferior to its predecessor in all respects. Why did Huawei cut the specifications of the new Honor 6C smartphone compared to the previous model, while leaving the same price? Moreover, the design of the new product has become more boring and nondescript, clearly reminiscent of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 . The logic of Huawei’s management is not entirely clear, given that recently the market for budget and mid-budget solutions has become more saturated than it was before. With this approach, the success of the new Honor 6C is unlikely to be guaranteed.
Cameras
The main camera of Honor 6c has a 13-megapixel matrix and an f/2.2 aperture, while it is additionally equipped with a single-color LED flash and phase detection autofocus. The flash works well, and, despite its monotony, the pictures are well lit, but not overexposed. However, we immediately find a significant drawback: this camera does not have a stabilization function when taking photos, so pictures in motion often turn out blurry.
In daylight conditions the camera performs quite well. The sharpness of the images is at a fairly high level, color rendition is close to natural, detail is normal in both close-up and distant plans. The camera copes well with shooting panoramas and general plans. It is a little worse at macro photography and blurring the background, but still the quality is quite acceptable. But as for photos at night, this could be described with a harsher word than just “bad.” The image immediately loses its clarity, and a huge amount of digital noise appears in the picture. At the same time, it does a good job and often saves photos, only slightly sacrificing additional clarity, without turning the photo into outright soap.
The shooting program is traditionally equipped with many different modes and decorations, including everyone’s favorite HDR and “delicious food”. The user can also manually set white balance, focus and exposure, which will undoubtedly please those who like to experiment with the camera. If you compare the Huawei Honor 6c with the company’s more top-end representatives, then, of course, the set of functions of this model will seem very limited. On the other hand, the quality of the 6c camera is not so high that it requires all these options. In our opinion, in this case a fairly good balance has been struck between possibilities and necessity.
The Honor 6c camera can record video in FullHD format at 30 frames per second. But the video quality itself still leaves much to be desired. Even in fairly bright lighting, digital noise creeps in, detail is quite mediocre, and colors look slightly washed out. There is an electronic stabilization function, but it doesn’t help at all when shooting on the go; the picture still remains jerky and torn. The sound is also not encouraging: even with a light wind you can hear whistling and other unpleasant extraneous sounds; the presence of a special microphone does not seem to affect the situation at all. In general, we would prefer to use the 6c to take photographs rather than shoot video.
The smartphone is also equipped with a front camera of 5 megapixels and f/2.2 aperture. The camera focus is fixed, there is no flash. The front camera essentially has the same functions as the main one, but for obvious reasons the shooting quality is much worse. In general, if you are not a demanding selfie lover, then the capabilities of the front camera will suit you quite well. If you can’t imagine your life without a selfie, then in order to avoid disappointment and nervous tics, it’s better for you to bypass 6 on the side.
We invite you to evaluate sample photos of Huawei Honor 6c and draw your own conclusions.
Memory and memory card
It doesn’t matter which Honor 6c you have - silver, gold or gray, in any case you will have 3 gigabytes of RAM and 32 gigabytes of permanent memory. This is perhaps the only feature in which it compares favorably with its predecessor, which had only 2 and 16 gigabytes of memory, respectively.
Today, 2 gigabytes of RAM is really not enough for the middle segment of the market, so the desire of developers to increase this parameter is quite understandable. As for the flash drive, in our opinion, there is no particular difference between 16 and 32 gigabytes of memory, and you will have to use a memory card in any case. But this, of course, is all very subjective, and, quite possibly, there will be people for whom such a volume is completely enough.
The situation with memory cards is also quite standard. The maximum size of a microSD card supported by a smartphone is 128 gigabytes. It’s worth keeping in mind the fact that the 6c has a combined card tray, and you won’t be able to use a memory card with two SIM cards at the same time.
In general, we have no memory complaints about the Honor 6c. Both the RAM and flash memory of the phone work quite quickly, everything is recorded and loaded at a decent speed. So let's move on.
Connection
Honor 6c supports most modern communication formats, including:
- GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz);
- WCDMA/HSPA+ (850/900/1900/2100 MHz);
- LTE Cat.4 FDD (B1/3/7/8/20), TD (B38).
In addition, the smartphone is equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n (2.4 GHz) and Bluetooth 4.1 modules.
Huawei Honor 6c is an LTE DUAL SIM smartphone, but it does not support such a popular format as NFC. Also among the obvious disadvantages of the phone is the rather low Wi-Fi speed and support for not all navigation satellites, including only GPS, A-GPS, Glonass and BDS.
The audibility of the interlocutor on this phone is quite good, but not ideal. The smartphone confidently catches the network outside the city, there are no sudden loss of connection or interruptions in speech.
Battery life and performance
Honor 6c is equipped with an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor built on Cortex A-53 cores with a cluster frequency of 4 × 1.4 GHz and 4 × 1.1 GHz. This is a pretty good processor, which today is quite sufficient for the needs of the operating system and performing most consumer tasks, including Internet surfing, watching videos, and simple games. In the Antutu benchmark, Huawei Honor 6c produces an average of 45,000 points, which is a very good result.
However, again, there is one significant “but”. The 435th Dragon is not a mid-range processor; this chipset is positioned by the manufacturer as a below-mid-range solution. Therefore, it is not clear that this chip was forgotten in a phone in the mid-budget segment. The same Honor 5c was once equipped with HiSilicon Kirin 650, which was significantly more productive and corresponded to its class. Why this time Huawei decided to save money in this way is completely unclear.
To prove our words, we present to your attention a comparison table of processors in current benchmarks.
Benchmark | Honor 6C (Qualcomm Snapdragon 435) | HTC One X10 (MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755)) | Honor 6X (HiSilicon Kirin 655) | Lenovo K6 Note (Qualcomm Snapdragon 430) | Asus Zenfone 3 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 625) |
AnTuTu (v6.x) | 45 579 | 50 597 | 56 991 | 44 418 | 63 146 |
GeekBench (v4.x) | 678/2121 | 757/2071 | 787/3300 | 635/2071 | 831/4092 |
This single-chip system is also equipped with an Adreno 505 video accelerator, which can only be called a gaming accelerator. Yes, you can play most modern games on it, but only the lightest projects will be able to get acceptable frame rates at high settings. In more complex games, even with a resolution of 1280x720, the settings will have to be reduced to medium or even low.
But in terms of autonomy, Huawei Honor 6c is good. The smartphone is equipped with a non-removable battery with a capacity of 3020 milliamp-hours and holds a charge for a really long time. To be honest, we did not expect such capabilities from a smartphone at all and were very pleasantly surprised. Depending on the modes, you can expect the following results from the 6c: in reading mode - 16 hours 30 minutes, in video viewing mode - 12 hours, in gaming mode - 6 hours 30 minutes. Much of the credit for this, of course, belongs to the economical processor, but if you are looking for a phone with great battery life, then you should pay attention to the Honor 6c.
Huawei Honor 6C Smartphone: Review
Dimensions and design - 4.1
The appearance of Huawei Honor 6C is devoid of originality; it is typical of modern budget smartphones. At the same time, the gadget fits comfortably in the hand, and the body materials resist dirt well.
The dimensions of the device have become smaller compared to Huawei Honor 5C - 143.5 × 69.9 × 8 mm, with a weight of 142 grams. By modern standards it is quite compact.
The front panel is covered with 2.5D glass with a good oleophobic coating. Fingerprints on it are almost invisible. At the top of the panel there is a front camera, earpiece and light sensor. At the bottom of the panel you can only note the inscription “Honor”. The navigation keys here are on-screen, so the inscription serves only decorative functions. Considering the display diagonal is not the largest, this solution looks strange, but it is used in many Huawei phones.
The back panel is made of metal, with plastic parts on the top and bottom. Its coating is resistant to scratches and various stains, and practically does not slip in the hand. The panel itself is rounded at the edges, which promotes a comfortable grip. The main camera with LED flash and a fingerprint sensor are also located here. Around the camera lens there is a side with protective glass that protrudes above the panel by a fraction of a millimeter. During testing, no chips or scratches appeared on it, but you should understand that with prolonged use their appearance is inevitable.
On the left side there is a slot for SIM and memory cards, on the right there are volume and power keys. On the top edge of the device there is an additional microphone and a mini-Jack connector, on the bottom there is a main microphone, a microUSB port and a music speaker.
You can buy Huawei Honor 6C in three colors: gray, silver and gold.
Screen - 4.0
Huawei Honor 6C is equipped with a high-quality IPS screen. Although it has some flaws, it can be called one of the best budget devices.
The display resolution is 1280x720 pixels, with a diagonal of 5 inches this gives a density of 294 ppi. The numbers are not the highest, but quite sufficient for comfortable work; individual pixels are visible only under a magnifying glass. The color gamut of the screen is very wide - 98% of the sRGB color field and 84% of AdobeRGB. Such coverage is typical for much more expensive devices, for example, Xiaomi Mi6 or Huawei P10. Due to this gamut, colors may look oversaturated, although it’s hard to call this a disadvantage, since many people even like it. The brightness range we measured was from 4 to 380 nits, the contrast value was 800:1. The image on the screen will be clearly readable in any lighting. The color rendering accuracy is high, the average error did not exceed two units. The default color temperature is slightly higher than the reference values, which makes blue tones slightly dominant. However, in the settings you can set your own white point value, although with some loss in color accuracy.
There are no complaints about the viewing angles of the display - when viewed from a large angle, the image loses its brightness, but is not distorted and remains easy to read.
Cameras - 3.5
Huawei Honor 6C has good photography capabilities.
The main camera of the smartphone has a resolution of 13 megapixels and an f/2.2 aperture. There is phase detection autofocus and LED flash. In daylight, photos come out well detailed without being overly sharp. Color rendition is close to natural. Phase detection autofocus is fast and rarely makes mistakes.
Night photography predictably introduces noise into photos and sharpness drops. The camera software comes to the rescue, which independently determines the shooting conditions and, in case of insufficient lighting, tries to correct the situation. Namely, the camera takes several frames and assembles one of them, using the rest to improve the final frame. In this case, a message is displayed on the smartphone display asking you to hold the device motionless.
The camera interface is quite simple and clear. The set of modes is as follows: “Professional”, “Audio Note”, “HDR”, “Watermark”, “Panorama”, “Focus” and “Delicious Food”. In the first, manual adjustment of focus mode, ISO (100-640), shutter speed, exposure, autofocus and white balance is available. The “HDR” mode improves the development of midtones and shadows, and the “Focus” mode allows you to change the focus of the frame on already taken photographs.
Video shooting is possible in resolutions up to FullHD (1920×1080). The quality of the videos is average - sometimes there is excessive sharpness, and when there is insufficient lighting, there is a lot of noise.
The front camera has a resolution of 5 megapixels. The quality of its images is also average: the detail is not bad, but the color rendition is pale. There are modes for selfie correction and panoramic shooting. The maximum resolution available for video calls is 1920x1080 pixels.

Working with text - 5.0
Typing messages on Huawei Honor 6C is convenient. Swype keyboard is pre-installed. It has support for continuous input, gestures and various themes. There is marking of additional characters available by long tap, and voice input.
Synchronization of the user dictionary with the Swype Connect cloud service is also available.
Internet - 4.0
The smartphone is quite convenient for browsing the Internet. Two browsers are preinstalled - Opera and Google Chrome. The features of the latter have already been talked about many times, let us briefly recall some: synchronization with the PC version, traffic compression and Incognito mode.
The Opera browser is rare on mobile devices, although its functionality is not inferior to other solutions. It can work with bookmarks and synchronize them, compress traffic, save pages for offline reading, and also has a built-in download manager. There is also a private mode, similar to Chrome's Incognito mode.
Communications - 2.6
Huawei Honor 6C received a typical set of communications for a budget device:
- Wi-Fi b/g/n with Wi-Fi Direct support
- Bluetooth 4.1 with A2DP support
- FM radio
- GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and BDS support
- compass
- accelerometer
A hybrid slot is used for memory cards and SIM cards. It is possible to install two nanoSIM or nanoSIM+microSD. The solution is classic for our time, but at the same time it offers a difficult choice. The main LTE frequencies used in Russia (Band 3, 7, 20) are supported. There is no USB On-The-Go support.
Multimedia - 3.4
The hero of our review has rather ordinary multimedia capabilities.
The video player does not “digest” some popular formats like HEVC, DTS and AC-3. When playing high-definition content, stuttering and stuttering may occur. From the settings you can change the aspect of the image and adjust the playback speed.
The audio player can conveniently sort your music collection and display song lyrics, but does not have any sound settings.
The characteristics of the audio path of Huawei Honor 6C are quite good, without peaks or dips. Its dynamic range, that is, the difference between the quietest and loudest sound, is 83.1 dB. At the same time, the power of the built-in amplifier is small, so you will have to select headphones quite carefully.
The volume of the call melody is quite high - 79 dB. This is significantly louder than a washing machine.
Performance - 2.9
The performance of Huawei Honor 6C is not high, although it is enough for most everyday tasks.
The smartphone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor (4 cores of 1.4 GHz and 4 cores of 1.1 GHz) and three gigabytes of RAM. The combination of a modern entry-level processor and a good amount of RAM gives the following test results:
- Geekbench 4 (processor test) - 2015 points (almost parity with Xiaomi Redmi 4, which has 2068 points);
- Ice Storm Unlimited from 3DMark (graphics) - 9494 points (a couple of thousand more than the Meizu M5s);
- AnTuTu 6 (mixed test) - 44977 points (slightly less than Samsung Galaxy A3 2017).
The system interface works smoothly, without freezing. The amount of RAM allows you to easily open a dozen tabs in the browser. There are also no stutters in simple games. Anything “heavy” like World Of Tanks or Asphalt Extreme is best run on medium or low settings to get an acceptable frame rate.
The phone heats up slightly under load - about 40 degrees. Warm, but not hot. This does not cause any inconvenience even with prolonged use.
Battery - 3.9
The autonomy of Huawei Honor 6C is not bad, although not the best in its class. The smartphone will easily last a full day with intensive use.
Honor 6C is equipped with a 3020 mAh battery. In combination with a low screen resolution and an energy-efficient processor, this gives the following results:
- Video playback at full screen brightness - 12 hours non-stop. Lowering the brightness to a comfortable 200 nits increases this time to 13 hours.
- Listening to music with wired headphones at a comfortable volume level and with the screen off - 49 hours without interruptions.
- Conversations on 3G networks - 16 hours.
We can note excellent video viewing indicators, close to the leaders in our rating, but the indicators for listening to music and conversations are average.
With a moderate usage scenario, including about an hour of calls, a couple of hours of music, an hour of watching videos, correspondence in instant messengers and social networks, the battery charge will last for two days.
There is no support for any fast charging standards here. When using the included charger, the battery will gain capacity from 5 to 100% in a little more than two hours.
Memory - 4.5
The memory capacity of Huawei Honor 6C can be considered sufficient. It is equipped with 32 GB of memory, of which 24 GB is available to the user. MicroSD memory cards up to 128 GB are supported. Considering the camera's capabilities, the memory capacity is quite sufficient for most tasks.
Peculiarities
Honor 6C runs Android 6, on top of which Huawei's proprietary shell is installed - EMUI 4.1. Unlike the “pure” OS from Google, this shell does not have a separate application menu; all icons are located directly on the desktop. In addition to this, there are several more settings, interface design themes are supported.
The fingerprint sensor works quickly and correctly; up to five prints can be stored in memory. In addition to security functions, the fingerprint sensor helps control the smartphone - if you slide your finger across it from top to bottom, a curtain with switches will open.
You can activate the camera from the built-in gallery; to do this, just swipe your finger from top to bottom without touching the notification curtain.
Software platform
The characteristics of the Huawei Honor 6c include the Android operating system version 6.0 and the proprietary EMUI 4.1 shell. Unfortunately, after the release of the pro version of the smartphone, owners of old 6c can no longer count on updating their phones to new versions of the operating system over the air.
In general, the proprietary shell pre-installed in this smartphone does not differ from that in other Huawei products. In particular, in this version there is a notification curtain that is already familiar to us: by swiping your finger from bottom to top across the locked screen, you can call up a submenu where you can find a flashlight, voice recorder, calculator and similar useful applications. Using a fingerprint scanner, you can not only unlock your phone, but also flip through music tracks, answer calls, turn off alarms and view photos. In short, the Huawei proprietary shell, as always, is very convenient and functional.
conclusions
The release date of Huawei Honor 6c is April 2021, while Honor 6c pro was released in October of the same year. This indicates nothing more than that Huawei realized its mistakes and decided to correct the situation as quickly as possible. Yes, the starting price for the smartphone was definitely very high, and 14,000 rubles is a lot for such a phone. But what if you now find such a device in a store for ten or even nine thousand rubles?
Well, that’s why this article was written: you can study the information provided and draw your own conclusions. We believe that the 6c is definitely worth that kind of money, and when you see such a phone in a store, there’s no shame in paying attention to it. Undoubtedly, the device, as of today, has many shortcomings: it is an outdated operating system, low screen resolution, and a very ordinary, if not weak, camera. But on the other hand, for just nine or ten thousand rubles you can get a smartphone with excellent battery life, high durability, a high-quality IPS matrix and good technical characteristics.
