Restoring stock firmware

If for some reason the new firmware does not meet your requirements, you can roll it back at any time. To do this, you need to download the initial version or use a backup (if one was made) and install using the method described above.

If you are satisfied with the new version of the software, but you have already worked with the system and it has started to slow down, it is recommended to reset all settings. To do this, go to Recovery mode and perform a wipe data/factory reset. You can also make a preliminary copy of the entire system using additional software.

How to remove fastboot

Not all Xiaomi users need the ADB Fastboot program. If you do not plan to reflash your smartphone or work with system files:

  2. Find the "Accessibility" item. In older versions of MIUI, Fastboot is enabled through the “Screen” section.
  3. Drag the Quick Start slider to off. Restart your phone so that the settings are saved.

If this method does not work, you will need a full reset. You can delete factory settings at your own risk. Before you start cleaning the system, you need to remove the SD card so that the data on it is not damaged. Transfer all the necessary information, including music and photos, to the cloud or to your computer. When formatted, they will be deleted from the smartphone. To do a hard reset:

  1. Turn off the gadget. Remove the SIM card from it.
  2. Hold the lower volume key and the lock button. After a few seconds, the Recovery Mode menu will launch and reboot into Fastboot reboot mode.
  3. In the menu, select “Clear” or “Wipe Data” (depending on the version of the smartphone). Select one of these options and confirm your choice with the power button.
  4. Complete cleaning will take up to 10 minutes. After this, the smartphone will turn on with the native MIUI shell.

What needs to be done before installing the firmware

Before you try to flash a Xiaomi smartphone via fastboot, you need to go through the preparatory stage.

  2. Download the MiFlash program (also MIUI ROM Flashing) to your computer. It is through it that we will flash the gadget.
  3. Also download the firmware file to your computer. It can be found on the official MIUI website for your Xiaomi. Download only those files that are intended for your smartphone model. After downloading, make sure the file is saved in tgz format. If you get gz, then rename it.

  5. It will not be possible to reflash Xiaomi with a locked bootloader, so make sure that the bootloader is unlocked (read below how to do this).

Possible problems and their solutions

Even if you completely follow the step-by-step instructions, errors may occur. Most often, they are easy to solve without the help of a specialist. It is enough to know what the problem is:

  1. Xiaomi firmware cannot be installed via Fastboot. The reason is an incorrect installation file. To avoid encountering such an error, you need to download the shell from the official Mi Community website. At the same time, disable the antivirus, because it can recognize the file as “malicious”.
  2. The smartphone is completely discharged. This happens if the battery is charged less than 60%. Just connect your phone to the network and wait until the battery is filled to 100%.
  3. The connection with the phone is lost. This occurs if the USB cable or input is damaged. First you need to try connecting to the computer via a different wire. If the problem occurs again, you need to take your smartphone for repair.
  4. XiaoMi Flash is not installed. This happens rarely. You can choose another program as a replacement. Debloater displays a list of applications and allows you to edit it. However, it is more difficult to do a complete flashing through it.

ADB Fastboot Tools is an application that allows you to customize your Xiaomi smartphone. Without it, installing a new shell would be a hassle for the user. It won't take much time to get to grips with the interface. All controls in the Xiaomi ADB Fastboot Tools program are made intuitive.
