Display (screen) assembly with touchscreen for Huawei Honor 4C Pro (D2TIT-L01) gold

Review of Huawei Honor 4C Pro

The main feature of Huawei Honor 4C Pro, announced at the beginning of April 2021, was a high-capacity 4000 mAh battery. At the same time, the smartphone itself belongs to the budget segment. Does this device have other interesting features?

Appearance and ergonomics

The manufacturer did not think long about creating a design for the Honor 4C Pro, limiting itself to an ordinary appearance. Therefore, the gadget turned out to be completely nondescript. The only interesting point is the mirror effect on the rear panel. Due to the light, the texture of the case shimmers somewhat. Obviously, such a plastic cover received a complex pattern that should imitate the properties of metal. A metal frame runs along the entire perimeter of the device.

“Thanks to” the powerful battery, the thickness of the smartphone has increased to 9.7 mm compared to its predecessor Honor 4C. The device is somewhat heavy, but this is a matter of taste, since the 160-gram long-liver still does not cross any boundaries. There are no navigation buttons on the front because they are virtual. Possible body colors for Honor 4C Pro: gold, black and white.

Display

The display quality turned out to be better than you would expect from a model in this segment. The five-inch display has today's classic HD resolution (1280 by 720 pixels), as well as an IPS matrix with the usual good viewing angles. The top of the screen is covered with tempered mineral glass with a fairly effective oleophobic coating. Brightness can be adjusted manually or automatically. You can also change the color temperature, choosing cold or warm tones. In the sun, the display lacks a little brightness reserve, but otherwise the picture is quite rich and contrasty.

Hardware and performance

You shouldn't expect anything supernatural from Huawei Honor 4C Pro in terms of performance. This is the most common budget solution with a MediaTek MT6735 chip on board. This processor is 64-bit, and its four Cortex-A53 cores can operate at a maximum frequency of 1300 MHz. The graphics are handled by the Mali-T720 accelerator, which supports OpenCL 1.2, as well as OpenGL ES 3.0. Such an economical chip scores 33,000 points in AnTuTu, which is not enough by modern standards. The Ice Storm Unlimited test showed a result of 4750 points. Of course, you can play on this smartphone, but you absolutely can’t count on smoothness and beautiful graphics.

The user can count on 2 GB of RAM and already 16 GB of free space for their own files, of which about 10-11 GB are actually available. Using MicroSD cards, the memory is significantly expanded up to 128 GB. It is controlled by Huawei Honor 4C Pro based on Android 5.1 OS. This popular platform is equipped with the EMUI 3.1 Lite shell, which is distinguished by its high speed and attractive menu design.

Communication and sound

The smartphone boasts the sound of music in headphones with powerful bass and volume reserve. But cleanliness and detail are still lacking. But the multimedia speaker turned out to be the simplest, and its volume level leaves much to be desired. The conversational speaker does not raise any questions, because the interlocutor can be heard perfectly.

Honor 4C Pro supports wireless interfaces Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2400 MHz), Bluetooth 4.0 + EDR, Wi-Fi Direct. The smartphone operates in LTE (1, 3, 7), 2G, 3G networks. You can use two microSIMs at once.

Camera

The budget model from Huawei has a 13-megapixel camera with a BSI OV sensor and aperture ratio 2.0. The lens itself consists of five separate elements. The module is reliably protected by a special coating that eliminates fingerprints. Among the camera's features, it is worth noting fast shooting in 0.8 seconds, panorama mode, voice control and burst shooting. There is also a standard 5-megapixel front camera.

conclusions

Huawei Honor 4C Pro relies on long battery life. Its appearance does not stand out in any way, and the filling turned out to be the most ordinary. At the same time, this smartphone for 13,000 rubles is a good choice for unassuming users.

Pros:

  • Battery.
  • Screen.
  • Camera.
  • Price.

Minuses:

  • External speaker.
  • Design.

Battery life

The non-removable battery installed in Honor 4C Pro has an outstanding capacity of 4000 mAh by any standards. This, of course, adds significant weight to what is essentially a medium-sized smartphone. On the other hand, the device, even with a doubled battery, weighs the same as its predecessor with a 2550 mAh battery.

In any case, the battery life of the smartphone is impressive, if not record-breaking. This is expected, since with a huge battery capacity there is neither a power-hungry large high-resolution screen nor a demanding hardware platform. As a result, the smartphone can easily spend two or even three days without recharging if it is used in the mode familiar to an ordinary person, but even on the busiest days the device will not run out of charge in the evening.

E-Katalog Continuous reading in the FBReader program (with a standard, light theme) at a minimum comfortable brightness level (brightness was set to 100 cd/m²) lasted 22.5 hours until the battery was completely discharged, and when continuously watching videos in high quality (720p ) with the same brightness level via a home Wi-Fi network, the device lasted for a full 13 hours. In 3D gaming mode, the smartphone worked for 7 hours.

The smartphone is fully charged in about 3 hours with a current of 1.8 A. Moreover, in the first hour the battery is charged up to 45%, and the rest of the volume is reached in the remaining time.

Connection

Honor 4C Pro is a dual-SIM phone with one radio module, which makes it work according to the Dual SIM Dual Standby scheme. There is no connection to the slot here, so the selection of a card working in 3G/4G is carried out using the smartphone menu and there is no need to swap rollers to change the master SIM. At the same time, a separate slot is retained, officially supporting microSD up to 128 GB. There are no comments on the quality of communication or the operation of the earpiece, but the main speaker at maximum volume (which is very high here) cannot cope, and the sound goes into high frequencies.

As for other interfaces, there is support for Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and GLONASS. But OTG technology is not supported, although the smartphone is capable of recharging other devices using a special cable.

Honor 4C Pro - camera

The main 13 MP camera module has an F2.0 aperture, which is not bad at all. The resulting images are distinguished by good color rendition, contrast and sharpness. The device quite accurately determines the white balance, which is rare for an inexpensive smartphone. If you take photographs in low light, the resulting result will please you with an acceptable amount of noise and accurate focus. The 5 MP front camera is quite ordinary, the aperture is F2.2 - nothing more is needed for selfies. At the same time, not everything is so rosy with video recording. Honor 4C Pro can shoot in a resolution of no more than 720p with a frame rate of 30 fps, and this, frankly, is not enough.

Performance

The hardware platform of Honor 4C Pro is based on a simple quad-core 64-bit single-chip system (SoC) MediaTek MT6735P. The SoC configuration includes four Cortex-A53 processor cores operating at frequencies up to 1.3 GHz. The Mali-T720 video accelerator is responsible for graphics processing.

The capabilities of the review hero's hardware platform are limited; it is entry-level; no impressive test results can be expected from it. In practice, it is enough for reliable work in most standard tasks, but it is not intended for demanding games. In Modern Combat 5, there were slowdowns, and they were quite noticeable; in World of Tanks this was better. You can play it anyway if you really want to, but this is not a multimedia solution.

Testing in the latest versions of comprehensive tests AnTuTu and GeekBench 3:

For convenience, we have compiled all the results we obtained when testing the smartphone in the latest versions of popular benchmarks into tables. The table usually adds several other devices from different segments, also tested on similar latest versions of benchmarks (this is done only for a visual assessment of the obtained dry figures).

Browser cross-platform tests:

As for benchmarks for assessing the speed of the javascript engine, you should always make allowance for the fact that their results significantly depend on the browser in which they are launched, so the comparison can only be truly correct on the same OS and browsers, and this is possible during testing not always. For Android OS, we always try to use Google Chrome.
