Communities › Car audio › Blog › Car audio part 1: replacing standard speakers.

I decided to break down the car audio in the car into stages: 1. Replace the standard speakers. Install new speakers without an amplifier (without a heavy load) for about a month to let them play out. 2. Make a double floor in the trunk to hide the amplifiers. I already did a double floor in my previous Kia Rio. 3. Install amplifiers and a subwoofer: the following remains from the previous car: Kicx QS 1.350 monoblock, Alpine SBG-1244BP subwoofer, as well as a four-channel amplifier DLS XM40. I will connect to the standard radio using MDLab SQ5. All this will move to proSid. 4. Make vibration insulation for the doors and rear sides. 5. Change subwoofer: I want 10 inches in a small box. And to make it easy: take it out, leave it at home and go traveling. 6. If the sound is not satisfactory, I will think about replacing the standard control unit.

Stage 1. In the Kia Rio, I had Morel Tempo 6 speakers at the front, purchased at one time for 4,200 rubles. The speakers are good and musical. Clear and sonorous highs, but they lacked low frequencies. So I really wanted to keep the goodness of the Tempo 6, but add some bass to it. At first I thought of putting pop speakers in the front doors. However, I don’t organize discotheques on the beaches, I don’t go to car audio competitions, the music is needed inside the car to be loud, so I gave up the stage. I chose among two-component acoustics measuring 16cm: - Focal Access 165 AS - DLS R6.2 - Ural AK-74.C - Morel Tempo Ultra 602 - JBL GTO6508C I listened to everything except the Urals, Morel won. For a long time I thought about URAL (warhead) AS-W165MB as rear speakers. At the last moment I wanted HF frequencies in the rear, so I bought coaxial speakers (also 16 cm) Morel Tempo Ultra Integra 602 for the rear ones. Both front and rear cost 14 thousand. rubles Spacers as a gift (4 pieces, 16 mm each). Then I read for a long time about speaker wires and compared prices for them. Branded wires are offered at a price of 300 rubles per meter. So I bought: PVA 2*1.5 for tweeters (I don’t remember the price). PVS 2*4.0 for midbass (70 rubles per meter). I installed everything myself. I soldered everything and insulated it with heat shrink. I struggled with the front doors for a long time: all day. It took a lot of time to install a thick PVS 2*4.0 cable through the doors. I installed the crossovers behind the front panel and glued them to the body with double-sided tape.

By the way, can anyone advise on connecting the power supply to the amplifiers: - for power supply to the amplifier, which cable is better to use: KG25 or PVZ 1*25? — take the minus from the car body or still throw a second wire from the battery terminal? -Put the fuse in the bulb under the hood? or in the trunk?

Do-it-yourself speaker repair without disassembly

Speakers that are built into acoustic systems can experience not only internal defects, but also external ones. Most often, this is a loosening of the speaker mounts to the front panel of the speaker systems. This causes extraneous noise in the speakers and disrupts the acoustic picture. This happens especially often in car sound systems. If the fastening becomes loose, you need to remove the false panel and tighten all connections. If there is no sound from the speakers, this is often due to a break in the wires running from the amplifier to the speakers. Therefore, before opening the acoustic module, you need to check its functionality.

Dirty speaker

If dirt has accumulated in the speaker holes, they need to be cleaned. It is advisable to first read the user manual or look on the manufacturer’s website.

You need to clean the speaker with the smartphone turned off and, if possible, it is better to remove the battery. Compressed air is used for cleaning. If you are not confident in your abilities and do not want to lose the warranty, it is better to take the device to a service center.

Standard methods

Phone setup:

  1. To do this, open “Settings” and go to the “Sound” section.
  2. After this, use the slider to set the sound of the melody and alarm clock. Here you can set the mode to silent and change the music ringtone.

Amplifier:

  1. Using this application you can also adjust the volume level of your Android device; it is quite simple and has a Russian-language interface.
  2. First of all, you need to read the warning about the dangers of increasing the volume, which can impair hearing and lead to rapid wear of the speakers.
  3. Next you need to click the “OK” button.

Adjustments are made using sliders. Using the first, the overall volume in the speakers is adjusted, the second amplifies it. The maximum volume increases to 60% of the total volume contained in the speakers.
