Yellow spot on phone screen warranty case

A small yellow spot appeared in the corner of the screen on my smartphone. God bless him, but it is increasing little by little and is already starting to irritate. Tell me, is there a way to remove it, and in general, why did it appear?

This problem is not uncommon (and what’s interesting is that in some cases, in addition to yellow spots, white spots may appear; other colors are rare).

It is hardly possible to single out one specific reason for their appearance without knowing what kind of device it was and how it was operated. Below I will summarize and present the most common of them (and also whether something can be done about them).

Why yellow spots may appear

Smartphone overheating

This is probably one of the most common causes of stains. By the way, in this case they most often appear on the sides of the screen in the form of small stripes with an orange-yellow tint along the edges (as in the example below in the photo).

I cannot help but note that overheating is an insidious thing and many users do not even notice that during games (and other resource-intensive applications) the temperature inside the smartphone has increased significantly. In this regard, I recommend that you read the article linked below.

Flooding the device with water

This is another extremely popular problem (note: so far 98% of smartphones are not waterproof, and perhaps manufacturers will someday improve this point). Often the phone simply falls into water somewhere in nature, in the bathroom, or gets wet in the rain (many people don’t even attach any importance to this.).

By the way, not only the screen suffers from water, but also the battery, microphone, speakers, and all the microcircuits inside the device. A characteristic feature of yellowness with a “good” flood is the large size of the spot and its weak intensity (as in the example below).

Note: when the device is flooded, white spots also often appear.

Factory defect/battery problem

If you have handled your phone with care and it is not yet a year old, then the appearance of stains can most often indicate a manufacturing defect (this usually happens with the cheapest devices). Pay attention to the phone body and battery (the fact is that sometimes batteries can swell and, because of this, put pressure on the screen, which causes stains to appear). An example in the photo below.

Swelling of the phone (battery)

If the battery is swollen, do not delay replacing it with a new one ( Important! In some cases, such batteries can even ignite!).

Note: on some cheap Chinese devices, spots appear on the screen after 2-4 years of use. Moreover, even if you handled the phone very carefully (the point is the low quality of components, for example, glue.).

Strong pressure on the screen / fall / fur. damage

I don't think there's much to comment on here. In this regard, it can be noted that users most often:

  • accidentally sit on the device when it is in the back pocket of their trousers;
  • they drop when they pick up the phone with wet (wet) hands;
  • They put a lot of pressure on the screen (sometimes when freezing and braking).

Matrix burnout, poor-quality glue between the touchscreen and display

Matrix burnout occurs after long-term use (more than a year) of cheap smartphones with low-quality components. Nothing can be done about this except replacing the display with a new one (what’s interesting: manufacturers of such cheap equipment seem to use a “calculator” to calculate how long their device will last - and just after the warranty period you are faced with a similar problem
