Mobile Cloud Huawei and Honor is a modern branded virtual storage from a Chinese company. This is analogous to MiCloud in Xiaomi or iCloud in iPhone. The main task of the proprietary utility is to help phone owners switch from internal storage devices and flash drives to a reliable digital platform. However, due to the fact that the platform was introduced in Russia only in April 2021, not everyone knows about its existence and functional features.
What is Mobile Cloud?
Cloud Mobile Cloud Huawei and Honor is a simple and reliable service for backing up and synchronizing data. Using it, you no longer need to worry about the safety of your information, backups and archived multimedia.
Everything will be at your fingertips on the virtual site. If you suddenly lose your phone or have it stolen, you can block your account page there remotely from another device to prevent intruders and strangers from gaining access to your personal files. It is also possible to log in from a new device to the same account, then old photos, videos, audio and documents will be pulled up and synchronized on the new device. This is convenient, because you don’t need to carry a bunch of flash drives or use old-fashioned memory cards. External drives are gradually fading into the background. It is more functional and practical to use a free service that is always at hand.
Options with more space
Keep in mind that the free storage of these tools is 5 GB. Although this is a capacity that will allow us to store thousands of photos, many users may need more space. In this case, Huawei offers options to expand this power. However, if Huawei wants to compete with Google Photos and other alternatives, it must offer an unlimited alternative in the cloud. However, this new product, if it happens, will not arrive until we know all the news about EMUI 11.

Data synchronization

- download and install Mobile Cloud on both phones;
- run the software on your old phone;
- in settings, select the option that downloads all types of content to digital memory;
- select which components you want to synchronize;

- start the process and wait for it to finish;
- log in to the same account from the new device;
- the files will be available there.
The process also works in reverse, meaning it is possible to transfer information from a new device to an old one.
Cloud Backup

There are such unpleasant situations as loss or theft of the phone, breakdown, etc. Then all the necessary components that are inside the gadget are lost. To prevent this from happening, regularly create a backup copy on Mobile Cloud. This will allow you to restore information from the last backup point at the right time.
Gallery Cloud
Photos are files that are found on every phone with a camera. These are pictures of family, friends, work images, etc. No one would like to lose them, because this is a memory and an important archive. To protect your gallery content from being deleted, set the save path to the Cloud Gallery.
Then the photo will be saved both in the gallery and on the cloud. Even if the picture is deleted from the phone’s memory, it remains in the album of the cloud service.

Data protection
If you are afraid that someone else might see the information, then there is no reason to be afraid. The developers of Huawei and Honor took care of several levels of entry that ensure complete safety:
- login is made through a personal login and password;
- Restoring access is only possible via telephone or email;
- protection standard complies with CSA Star certification (ISO/IEC 27001);
- If you have lost your phone, it is possible to block access remotely from another device.
To enhance your security, do not share your login information with strangers.
What did you launch first?
The Russian cloud services market is different from the Chinese or European ones. It is much smaller in volume, and Russian business still does not accept cloud technologies as well as Western ones. Also, our research done in 2021 showed that advanced PaaS cloud services are not in very high demand, although there was an upward trend. There are also positive (for the provider) differences: the market is still far from saturation, and there is less competition in Russia. The most difficult part was choosing products for the first phase of deployment. A serious market analysis was carried out with the involvement of third-party contractors, and only IaaS services were selected for the initial stage in Russia:
- virtual data center (VPC)
- virtual servers (ECS)
- block storage (EVS)
- object storage (OBS) supporting the S3 protocol;
- Auto Scaling
- load balancers (ELB)
- VPN as a service
- Firewall as a service

- dedicated servers (Bare Metal Service) and some others.
The first availability zone officially began operating in March 2021.
Our cloud also offers a free cloud infrastructure monitoring service (Cloud Eye Service), a service for logging events related to infrastructure changes (Cloud Trace Service) and a notification service (Simple Message Notification), which significantly improve the security and administration capabilities of the cloud infrastructure.
Quite quickly we had clients with requests for GPU virtualization. Especially for them, this service was quickly migrated from the Chinese cloud. At the end of 2021, servers with Nvidia Tesla V100 GPUs arrived for these customers. In the second quarter of 2021, we plan to further expand the cluster of GPU servers.
The Direct Connect service has proven itself to be excellent - connecting the client’s physical data center with its virtual data center in the Huawei cloud using dark optics. The client in this case receives IP-level routing with a high degree of security between its physical and cloud networks.
In October 2021, the first PaaS services were launched in test mode:
- RDS, Relational Database Service (databases as a service). Products such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server are now available in the cloud;
- DCS, Distributed Cache Service, which implements data caching systems in RAM. You can choose a service based on memcached or based on redis).
- DDS, Document Database Service: document-oriented database management system based on MongoDB.

Small clients are usually satisfied with basic IaaS services, while medium and large companies require a wider range of services, including PaaS: container management, data warehouse building, message brokers.
The reality of the needs of our customers was such that in the third quarter of 2021 we exhausted the capacity of the data center we were using at that time and began to look for opportunities for further expansion.
How to use the cloud on Android Honor and Huawei
You click on the software icon, connect to the mobile Internet or access point, and log into the cloud on your Huawei or Honor smartphone.
Enabling the cloud service
Next, through the cloud service, you go to the list of files and select those that need to be uploaded to the site. Then click the start download icon. We emphasize that the system will accept no more than five gigabytes.
Settings
In the options you can set the types of files that are available for downloading. It can be photos only, audio only, all files, or any other combination. This does not change the storage size on the server.
If you already have a full reserve of 2 GB, then you can add 3 more. This traffic is free, but it is possible to add space for money.
How we started
When the question arose about considering the possibilities of launching a public cloud in Russia, the first thing we did was conduct a deep and comprehensive analysis of the Russian cloud services market in 2016-2017. The results of the analysis gave us confidence that the market is very lively and dynamic, but at the same time it is far from saturation. Many practical questions also arose, in particular of a legal and commercial nature: what licenses are needed to provide such services, how best to obtain them, how to formalize relationships with customers, etc.
As a result, the cloud services were deployed on a partner platform: the 3data company provided us with its own data processing center with engineering infrastructure and communication channels, its characteristics corresponding to Tier 3. The cloud itself is entirely built on Huawei products: all hardware and software components of the cloud, that is, servers , data storage systems, communication equipment, as well as software - all of our own production.
The equipment is located in Moscow, and services are provided under the Huawei 3data Cloud brand: the partner provides the first line of cloud support and, partially, the second. 3data is also a frontliner for clients who sign an agreement with 3data. The number of their own data processing centers is approaching two dozen; the company is quite capable of such large-scale projects.
Our cloud software is built on the Huawei FusionCloud solution, which in turn is based on OpenStack. KVM virtualization is used. It is pertinent to note that Huawei is one of the eight platinum sponsors of the OpenStack project.
We use Huawei FusionSphere hypervisor, which is based on KVM. It is very important to note that Huawei was one of the first companies to receive a FSTEC certificate for its hypervisor.
What to do if Mobile Cloud does not work
There is no single reason why the service does not work. The following circumstances are to blame:
- the cache or RAM is clogged;
- virus;
- unknown system error;
- Incorrect login or password.
First clear the app cache. Next, run your antivirus and do a deep scan. After that, restart your phone and try opening the software again. If the reason for the lack of response from the server is an incorrect login or password, restore your login information via email or phone number.
